Shock valves are used for secondary protection of hydraulic systems. These are used, among other things, to protect hydraulic motors, synchronous cylinders and systems with the same stroke volume. They protect hydraulic motors against peak pressures from external forces. These can occur especially with heavy, trailing masses, during sudden stops or when the direction of rotation of the motor is directly reversed. Another application is, for example, the protection of snow plow cylinders that are constantly exposed to external stress during clearing. By assembly as close as possible to the consumer, a fast response can be achieved.
