For seats from 2018, the conversion kit is required when fitting the new rigid belt buckle for the first time, as the old flexible belt buckle is no longer available. The seat belt buckle has an integrated contact switch to signal when the seat belt is fastened. If the seat belt is not fastened, the bus may emit a warning tone for the driver, for example.
